Itinerary
Our driver will meet you at the reception of your hotel on Koh Lanta Yai. You will receive a more precise pickup time once your booking is in. We then drive towards the south of the island, where Lanta Elephant Sanctuary is located.
You'll meet and feed the elephants at Lanta Elephant Sanctuary. Free bananas are included in both program A and B. We walk with them through the jungle to the mud spa.
For both program A and B, a mud spa session with your elephant is next. See how the elephants rub themselves with mud, before we move over to the pool for an elephant bathing session.
Next, it's time to get clean again! You can enter the pool together with the elephants and help them refresh themselves. After bathing, program A ends with a return transfer to the hotel. Program B continues with the food program.
We then move on to prepare lunch or dinner for the elephants. Learn what they like to eat and prepare herbal medicine balls that help the elephants stay healthy.
After preparing the food, it's time to feed your creations to the animals.
Next, you'll learn how we can make use of elephant poo and turn it into paper. You can make your own sheets of paper and bring it back as a souvenir!
At the end of the morning or afternoon, program B ends with a return transfer to your hotel or villa on Koh Lanta Yai. The Lanta elephant sanctuary tour ends here!

Yes, the elephants are well cared for and there’s no riding involved. You’ll learn about proper elephant care and participate in natural activities with them. The elephants are in no way chained and are allowed to roam freely at Lanta Elephant Sanctuary.
Most definitely! Lanta Elephant Sanctuary welcomes children from 3 years old. Safety is our concern, so we give young and old guidelines and rules at the start of the program. That way we can keep the trip safe and fun for everyone. Babies in strollers are also welcome, but for children aged 1 and 2, the program is not suitable because of the jungle walk.
We welcome pregnant women to the sanctuary, but keep in mind that we walk along the park with the elephants. This can be tiring for women during their late pregnancy.
We are open year round, rain or sunshine. The elephants enjoy the rain as they can have fun in the mud and water. Don’t worry about the weather: if it’s necessary we’ll provide rain coats and umbrellas. Visiting Lanta Elephant Sanctuary during a rainy day is something special!
You can cancel your booking for free up until 24 hours in advance of the tour start date. That means you need to cancel no later than 23:59, 2 days before the tour date. We’ll refund you the deposit or you can choose to use it as an advance to a different booking or tour.

Loved every minute of this! The elephants are soooo cute and you can see they are well loved. I was smiling the whole time. The mud was messy in the best way. Thank you to the kind team for a beautiful day!
Honestly, this was one of the most unique and genuine experiences I’ve had. Loved learning about the elephants’ pasts and watching them just be themselves. Very chill and well paced. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
I booked this for my partner’s birthday and it was perfect. She’s an animal lover and cried (happy tears!) seeing the elephants up close. We got muddy, laughed a lot, and left feeling inspired. Beautiful sanctuary and good people.
Spent a morning here and it was fantastic. We got to walk with the elephants, feed them, and play in the mud. Everything was well-organized and it felt like they really care about the animals. Highly recommend this if you want a peaceful but fun adventure.
This experience touched my heart. Seeing the elephants roam free and interact naturally was incredible.
