Itinerary
Please choose your start time (09:00 or 13:00) during checkout. We'll meet you at your hotel or villa for the ride to Thung Yee Peng pier in the north east of Koh Lanta.
After boarding the boat, we head out through the mangroves to set the crab nets. We'll be back at the end of the tour to see what we caught!
We make our way through the dense mangroves. On the way you can see monkeys, who will gladly jump on the boat for a snack. If you just want to see them, it's good to keep a safe distance and watch them play around in the trees.
We then find a suitable spot to start fishing. All fishing gear and bait is included. The captain will help you set up the right bait and then you can start fishing. We usually catch small fish, octopus and an occasional Grouper. These are all yummy and will be prepared during lunch or dinner later. Cast away!
On the way back to the pier, we first visit the location where we dropped the crab nets. You can help to reel them in and hopefully there's a good catch! We'll bring whatever is caught back to the restaurant.
On arrival back at the restaurant, you can sit down by the waterfront and enjoy a cold drink while the catch is being prepared. If it wasn't a great catch, the kitchen staff will cook other seafoods as well. Enjoy your lunch or dinner!
After the meal, it's time to head back to your hotel. We'll bring you back safely and hope you enjoyed this private (crab) fishing trip in the mangroves of Koh Lanta!

The mangrove kayaking tour runs every day of the year and is actually a great experience when it rains. The jungle looks lush and green and it's one of the best things to do on a rainy day on Koh Lanta.

This was a relaxing, low-key trip that gave us a peek into local life. Cruising through the mangroves was peaceful and quiet, and the crab fishing was both fun and informative. We even saw a huge monitor lizard lounging in the trees! Our guide made it even better with stories and a great sense of humor. Loved it.
Such a unique experience compared to the usual island tours. The guide was knowledgeable and the crab fishing part was actually super fun.
I really enjoyed this tour. It wasn’t your typical tourist activity, and that made it even better. The scenery was gorgeous, with trees hanging over the water and birds flying around. We even got to cook and taste some of the crab we caught, which was a real highlight. Highly recommend if you want something a bit different and educational too.
What a peaceful way to spend a morning. The mangrove forest was stunning, and I loved the little boat ride through the quiet channels. Crab fishing was fun and surprisingly satisfying—we caught a few decent ones! Our guide was kind and explained everything in a very easy way. I loved seeing this more traditional side of Thai island life.
Super cool tour! The mangroves were beautiful and the crab fishing was way more fun than I expected.
